Honda has announced the launch of a new middleweight motorcycle, the CB750 Hornet, which takes inspiration from its predecessor but has been brought right up to date with modern technology and a focus on younger riders.
The CB750 Hornet features a brand-new twin-cylinder engine that delivers both top-end buzz and mid-range usability, with a power output of 67.5kW and 75Nm of torque. The engine is housed in a lightweight steel frame that allows for supremely agile side-to-side performance and instant, riotous acceleration.
The bike also features Throttle By Wire (TBW) technology, which serves up three riding modes and three levels of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with integrated Wheelie Control, as well as three levels of Engine Braking and Power delivery. The suspension is provided by high-quality Showa components, with 41mm Separate Fork Function Big Piston (SFF-BPTM) USD forks and rear shock working through Pro-Link.
The CB750 Hornet also boasts a premium specification, including a 5-inch colour TFT instrument display, Honda Smartphone Voice Control (HSVC), full LED lighting, auto-indicator cancel, and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) technology.
Honda is positioning the CB750 Hornet as a fast, agile, and fun bike for a new generation of riders. The company has worked hard to create something special, with styling led by the latest generation of creative minds in Honda's Rome R&D facility. The minimalist look and sharp, modern streetfighter style of the CB750 Hornet are sure to attract attention on the road.
The original CB600F Hornet was hugely popular in Europe, and Honda has high expectations for the new CB750 Hornet. The naked bike segment continues to grow in both size and complexity, with many niches, and rider expectations have never been higher. The CB750 Hornet is a bike for now, designed to meet the needs of a whole new generation of riders.
