Why Ride a Bike?

With the ever rising cost of fuel and living, everyone is looking at a way to reduce outgoings. More and more people are turning to biking as not only is it cheaper to run a bike but its more fun and a much faster way of getting to work and lets face it "Time is money"!

  • Tax on a bike starts at £15 for a year for a 125cc.
  • A 110 cc Scooter can be purchased for £1599 (Honda Lead110) or a 125cc bike £1799 (CG125)
  • On a 110cc Scooter you can expect 140 mpg
  • Most cars will do 30mpg or less
  • Petrol now cost £5.45 per gallon (22/07/2008)
  • So get the calculator out and you can work out that on a 20 mile commute (40 in total) 5 days a week,  a car  will cost £1890 per year in petrol alone.
  • A  110 cc Scooter on the same commute will cost £405 a year in petrol
  • Thats £1485 saved per year in petrol!
  • Thats not including the time you save geting there, the cost of parking (which is free in most towns on a bike) and the enjoyment!!!
  • Basically a Honda Lead 110cc Scooter pays for itself in a year!
  • You can expect very similar mpg from a 1255cc bike!
  • Its easy to get on a Scooter all you need is a one day course that costs £90.
